Geboren am 25.1.1961 in Wien.

Begann noch während des Studiums der Publizistik eine Karriere als Photojournalist und war über 20 Jahre Chief Photographer bei der Nachrichtenagentur Reuters, d.h. war fast überall auf der Welt.

Parallel zur Photographie entwickelte sich auch die Leidenschaft für die Malerei.

1999 bis 2006 Privatstudium bei Hans Prätterhoffer über alle Aspekte des künstlerischen Schaffens.

Seine Lieblingsthemen waren in frühen Jahren erotische Phantasien und später phantastische Landschaften.

Michael Leckel arbeitet mit quasi allem: Aquarell, Kohle, Tusche, Acryl, Öl und auch mit digitaler Photographie.

Born on 25th January 1961 in Vienna.

He began his career as a photojournalist whilst still studying mass media and communication science, and worked for more than 20 years as Chief Photographer at the news agency Reuters, meaning he was all over the world.

Alongside photography, he also developed a passion for painting. From 1999 to 2006 he studied all the aspects of artistic practice under Hans Prätterhoffer.  

His favourite themes have been erotic fantasies in the early years and imaginative landscapes later on.

Michael Leckel works with virtually everything: water colour, charcoal, Indian ink, acrylics, oil paint, as well as digital photography.
